HAIR TRANSPLANT FOR MEN
The hair transplant for men ratio is much higher than women. There is a biological reason for this increase in incidence in men. The baldness is due to the inheritance of genes from parents to springs. Baldness is also a sex-limited trait. It occurs with more frequency in men than in women. If a male receives a single particular gene of baldness from his parents then he will be bald. But if a female receives one gene, this would not affect so much. She will be bald only if she has received both genes of baldness from her parents. Although hair loss and the thinning problem may occur in both sexes, yet baldness is more common in men. Therefore, males are mostly in a struggle of restoration of hair by undergoing transplant procedure.
Hair transplant for men is a blessing for those persons who want to have
a natural look. Being attractive and pleasant looking is the fundamental right
of every person. But some people bother least about it. While others give a
pleasant and charming look with the shaved scalp. There are many methods of
hair transplant for men. This includes Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE), Follicular Unit Transplant (FUT), Hybrid,
Robotic, laser transplant and many more. This should be seen whether a person
is eligible for treatment or not? Various criteria regard a person eligible for
undergoing a procedure or not. A person who has a loose scalp is recommended to
undergo a procedure than a person with a tight scalp. This is because it is
more difficult to remove hair follicles from the tight scalp than the person
who has low scalp laxity. Similarly, people whose scalp colour and hair colour
matches are preferred over those with a contrasting colour. In the same way,
the persons having thick, denser and curls hair are regarded eligible for this
procedure.
Before
starting a hair transplant for men, the physician may ask to avoid some
things. He may advise not to do smoking 3-4 days before. Alcohol consumption
should also be avoided a few days before surgery. Similarly, the patient should
not take blood thinners because there may be bleeding during surgery. Which
procedure is to be followed depends upon the type of treatment to be undergone.
If the Follicular Unit Transplant is undergoing then the physician cuts a strip
from the back of the scalp and then implants it on the bald area. But if the
Follicular Unit Extraction is undergoing then the surgeon cuts the follicles
from the back of the scalp, often called the donor site. The follicles are then
separated one by one. With the help of microneedles, the small micro holes in
the recipient site are then made. The surgeon then implants the grafted
follicles at these punched sites. The operated site is then cleaned and
bandaged. After the surgery, the patient will return to normal daily routine
work within 24-48 hours. In hybrid transplant for men, both FUE and FUT are
performed in a single session simultaneously. However, after treatment, the
medical practitioner may ask the patient to avoid the hard exercise but may
take light exercise. Usual side effects include pain, itching, swelling or
bleeding for a short time. In the same way, he should avoid touching the treated
area, using hats or caps may also be opposed. Cleansing the newly treated scalp
with prescribed shampoo after some time can be done.
