Hair Transplant Technology
The persons who are suffering from the
genetic disease of baldness look for modern Hair Transplant Technology,
to restore their natural look. Baldness is the most common, primitive and
sex-limited disease and runs in families. This disease most commonly affects
males with a higher incidence than females. The person receives genes from
their parents and these may include the baldness or pattern baldness genes. The
males suffer mostly because of the sex-limited nature of this disease. The male
will be bald if he received the gene from any of his parents. The female will
only exhibit the phenotype if she receives both genes from her parents. These
cases usually have a low incidence ratio but still present in this world. Looking
beautiful is the foremost right of every person, but hair loss was the major
hurdle. In the earlier times, the bald person spent their whole lives having a
keen desire to look natural, but there was not an available treatment for this
type of procedure. In the current times, many procedures are available for the
patients to restore their natural look.
Hair Transplant Technology involves multiple procedures, from the invention of
primitive and manual therapy to the most advanced usage of instruments. These
treatments include Follicular Unit Transplant, Follicular Unit Extraction,
Hybrid, Neograft, Laser, and Robotic. All these procedures have the same
purpose of restoration of hair but it is different in undergoing the procedure.
Before starting any of the above treatments, the surgeon examines the patient
donor and recipient site. If he has enough donor sites, then he proceeds
forward. In males, the donor area may be chest, beard or hair on the scalp
backside. Females have donor sites from the backside of the scalp only. Next,
the surgeon observes the scalp laxity. If the patient has a loose scalp, then
he is considered the ideal person for undergoing the procedure. In the first
step, a member of the team takes snaps of the patient’s head. The surgeon marks
the donor and recipient area on the picture using markers. Then practically, he
demarcates the area on the patient’s scalp. Then, the medical practitioner
applies local anaesthesia to the scalp. Again, thanks to modern technology,
generalized anaesthesia was used in the earlier times which overall numbs the
body. The local anaesthesia only desensitizes the applied area.
In FUT, the primitive Hair
Transplant Technology, the surgeon cuts the strip of skin from the
donor area, seals the incised area using the stitches and implants the strip
full of hair follicles to the recipient site. In FUE, the surgeon extracts the
follicles from the donor area and preserves them in a special medium to avoid
any damage or degradation. The medical experts then separate these under the
microscope. With the help of micro needles, they make small holes in the
recipient area. In the hybrid technique, the FUT and FUE are simultaneously
undergone. A strip of skin is cut; follicles are extracted and implanted to the
recipient area. In Laser therapy, a monochromatic light beam of a specific
wavelength is used. The Laser beam is focused on the recipient site and it
creates the holes in the focused site by volatilizing the cells in that area.
The extracted follicles are then implanted in these holes. In Neograft, the
surgeon uses the wand, an instrument for the extraction of follicles. The wand
creates a vacuum in the site for the extraction of follicles. The same
technique is used in the grafting of follicles. This gives the least damage to
the follicles. In Robotic technology, the robots perform the surgery. The ARTAS
system detects the donor and recipient sites, separating them using the algorithms
and software.
Hair Transplant Technology cost varies from procedure to procedure. It highly depends
on the number of sessions, number of grafts to be moved, location of the
clinic, number of clinics in an area, expertise of surgeon and others. The
average cost of FUE ranges from $4000 to $15000 in a single session. However,
multiple session treatments can reach up to $50000. The Laser and Neo-graft
technology costs more because it depends on the expertise of surgeons and very
few surgeons are expert in these procedures. Similarly, the Robotic treatment
also has a much higher cost than others. The reason for this is only a few
clinics have these robots for performing surgery. Many people travel to abroad
for cheap hair transplant in Lahore Pakistan and results are comparable to any
clinic of the world.
