Hair restoration surgery
Many people nowadays are opting for hair restoration surgery, in order to look their best. Some people lose hair at an early age and may look older than their age and also lose confidence as they think that to look good everything should be in its place. There are so many procedures available to restore hair by transplantation, which is carried out in two ways, one is the surgical process and the other is non-surgical. Non-surgical processes include techniques like bonding, integration, weaves and a lot more but these are the most commonly used methods. Bonding is all about attaching hair with medical adhesives to stick to the patch that is bald and can be taken off as well. Integration is for those who have thinning hair all over the scalp not just a large bald patch. It is also a process of gluing together strings to the existing hair to give a fuller look which suits the person. Weaves are the method of sewing braids to the existing ones and the unit is firmly weaved into the scalp, but it may cause swelling of the scalp in some cases. The non-surgical techniques use units of hair to be placed on the scalp in different ways, while the surgical techniques help in growing from follicles natural looking hair that may change the appearance of a person and add confidence as the follicles last for a very long time without much hassle.
The surgical procedures of hair restoration surgery mainly include the
FUT and the FUE procedure. It is highly recommended that the person must be
careful in selecting the right time for any type of treatment. The person must
be medically fit to undergo the transplantation procedure as it is of utmost
importance that no illnesses are diagnosed which might hinder the surgical
process. Sometimes medical history also reveals some allergic reactions to
certain drugs or treatments, so the surgeon must be informed beforehand, in
order to avoid serious consequences. The surgeon will provide the person, ready
to undergo the transplant with necessary details and it is advisable to follow
every step for s smooth transplant procedure. The FUT or follicular unit
transplant is one of the common methods being used by surgeons for hair loss
treatment in men and women, in this procedure a 6 to 8 inch strip of strong
hair is carefully removed mainly from the back of the head, and the area is
sewn to hide the stitches. The strip of follicles is grafted onto the bald
patch with the use of incisions, in which units of 500 to 1000 follicles are
inserted, which in turn would grow in three to four weeks and give the required
result. Care must be taken of the transplanted area; any swelling or redness
should be reported to the surgeon immediately. Some pain medications are given
to combat and ease the pressure of incisions, it will take two to three days
for the pain to go away. After the procedure the scalp is covered with bandages
which would be taken off after two or three days, and the person can resume the
daily activities of life.
Hair restoration surgery in
Lahore Pakistan is performed with FUE or follicular unit
extraction procedure which is a little different from the FUT treatment. In
this procedure the surgeon shaves the back of the head and extracts follicles
where strong hairs are present, one by one the follicles are taken out
depending upon the person’s requirement for covering the bald area. The
follicles once taken out are then inserted through incisions onto the bald
patch in groups of 200 to 300 follicles, which takes about 4 to 6 hours to be
completed. The area is covered with bandages and some pain medications are
prescribed. The person is advised to report any adverse symptoms if they appear
like the swelling or redness of the scalp. After the surgery follicles start
growing hair in about four to five weeks. Though the treatment might cost
according to the area covered through surgery, there are instances, where the
procedure might not be effective and the person may not be able to acquire the
desired results, but the ratio of such cases is fairly low and most of the
people regain their lost confidence. Another technique of transplant is the
flap surgery which is an old technique but has been carried out on a number of
people. In this method the bald flap of skin is cut out and in its place the
hair bearing flap is stitched and the scars are hidden once the follicles start
to grow with their natural blood supply. This type of surgery is also performed
in combination with scalp reduction. The parts of the scalp that are bald are
removed and the scalp is stitched to the area of dense hair by suture. This
type of procedure is only carried out on the bald patches that are at the back
or the middle of the head and is not applicable on the forefront of the head.
Scalp reduction combined with flap surgery produces desired results for the
clients, but it may cause pain pressure on the scalp, which can be treated with
pain medications and antibiotics. There are various hair loss treatments for men and women but recently
popular techniques are FUT & FUE to get a full head of hair.
