 Section 8 is a housing program that has been introduced by HUD. HUD is the abbreviation of Housing & Urban Development which is providing a basic support system for all those houses which are on the low-income timeline with some disabilities.

The main aim of this section 8 housing falls into the criteria where it is allowing the disabled adults to live on their own. HUD is providing funding to serve with different housing opportunities and get access to all those basic services which individuals are looking for.

A single person with some impairment can also apply.  But for families, they can only apply if they are having some members in their family who are above 18 years old and they are disabled mentally or physically.

Above all, there are few basic income requirements as well which the families have to meet to get eligible for the housing program of Section 8. You should make around 50% of the median income in that specific area for which you are applying for.

All the applicants who are part of Section 811 housing applications, it is important for them to add the housing history information as well.  Any applicant who has been evicted from the HUD 811 housing program in the last 5 years they cannot apply for this housing assistance.
