Jewelry Lore and Properties
Pearls are widely used in jewelry. These can be made of glass, precious stones, metals, wood, shells, clay and polymer clay. Pearl jewelry often includes necklaces, bracelets, earrings, belts and rings. The smallest types of pearls used are known as pearls, these are pearls used for the “weaving style” of pearl jewelry. Rocailles are also used in an embroidery technique that involves sewing them onto fabric liners to make wide neck pieces and beaded bracelets. Bead embroidery, a handicraft popular in the Victorian era, is experiencing a renaissance in modern jewelry making. Pearls or pearls are also very popular in North America in many African and Native American cultures.
Goldsmiths, silversmiths and lapidars use methods such as
forging, casting, welding or welding, cutting, carving, and “cold gluing”
(using glue, staples, and rivets to join parts together).
Properties
of various jewelry and gems:-
Gold
The special properties of gold make it perfect for making jewelry. These
include: Very high brightness; Desirable yellow color; stigma resistance; the
ability to be drawn into wires, hammered into panels, or shaped into shapes.
These are all qualities of an attractive metal that can be easily turned into
beautiful objects.
Diamonds
Diamonds were first mined in India. Pliny may have mentioned him,
although there is some debate about the exact nature of the stone he called
Adam. In 2005, Australia, Botswana, Russia and Canada were the major
sources of gemstone production. There are negative consequences
in some areas of the diamond trade. Diamonds mined in recent civil wars
in Angola, Cte d’Ivoire, Sierra Leone and other countries were called blood
diamonds when mined in war zones and sold to fund rebellions.
Emerald
Along with rubies and sapphires, emerald is one of the three most important
gemstones and is known for its beautiful green to blue-green color. They
have been valued throughout history, and some historians report that the
Egyptians lived as far back as 3500 BC.

Jade is most commonly associated with green, but it can also come in many other
colors. Jade is closely related to Asian culture, history and tradition
and is sometimes referred to as the Stone of Heaven.
