There are plenty of 'bucket list' travel experiences to be had on a Komodo Island tour in Indonesia. The island is a spectacular place to visit for anyone coming to Indonesia. Komodo Island has the largest lizards in the world and you can see them by taking a boat tour with Maika Komodo Tour.
This island is popular for giving you a closer look of the Komodo dragons which is basically one of the wildest animal in the world. Hence, this National Park is having wide range of islands with the pink and white sand beaches and has coral reefs for diving.
What is the
location of Komodo Island?
This island is located about a two hour boat ride from the island of Flores in the East Indonesia which is basically a tropical island group being the part of Komodo National Park.
Komodo, Rinca, and Padar are the three main islands in the park, but there are many smaller ones as well, so it's great for island hopping! Padar Island is also very popular to take a boat trip to as well.
What is the
best way to get around the islands?
A slow boat, a speedboat, or a liveaboardKomodo boat tour is the three types of boat to explore the islands. We offer options to use any of those and our customers are very happy with their experiences.
The local Boats are cheapest, but they take a longer time to travel since they are so slower. There is no doubt that speedboats are far faster and more efficient, but they are also are a bit more expensive, but we can offer group rates and accommodate you on your travel needs.
A liveaboard trip can be the best way, because you can take much more time to enjoy it and have a more memorable experience. Since you get to spend several days in the park taking in the sights and sleeping in a cabin, a Live aboard is highly recommended. Labuan Bajo is a small town that is easy to get around, so if you are looking at seeing any of the sites you can do that while visiting Labuan Bajo.
When should
you visit?
Dragons can be seen all year round. Komodo tours to National Park’s highest season are between July and August, when temperatures are cooler and more comfortable. However, the park is also crowded with tourists during this time.
If you want to visit Komodo Island, stay away from the months of December to February, which are rainy seasons in Indonesia, and when the weather is unfriendly for sailing or trekking. There is usually no reason to go during these months other than to avoid the crowds. Although if you are a scuba diver, this is usually a better time to see Manta rays.
